Our Mission… The mission of the Student Nursing Association of Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi is to bring together pre-nursing and nursing students in order to educate and empower students to be proactive in their nursing education and to help students succeed in their professional endeavors. It is our goal to provide social, educational, and volunteer opportunities that will enable students to establish mutual and beneficial relationships with colleagues and nurse professionals in the community and around the state.

  4. Requirements as a Member To be considered an active SNA member you must: 1. Attend SNA meetings 2. Pay dues of $15.00 per year 3. Complete the SNA service hour requirements (4 hours/semester) 4. Actively participate in SNA events 5. Sign up at ORGSYNC.COM *** Dues due by March 20, second meeting***

Sign Up for ORGSYNC • Go to www.orgsync.com • Click “Register” in the top right corner. • Fill out the fields (name, email, etc.) and press “Create” • Go to Browse Organizations • Add Student Nurses Association • Click JOIN on the left hand corner.   6. Scheduled Meetings SPRING 2012 • Jan 31- Lonestar Ballroom • March 20- Lonestar Ballroom • April 17*- Lonestar Ballroom • May 1 (tentative)

  7. *Must attend 2 Meetings* Effective as of October 25, 2011, All Student Nurses’ Association members will be encouraged to attend all SNA meetings with the allowance of two absences for extenuating circumstances. If a member is unable to attend at least two meetings, he/she must discuss the conditions with the officers for reasons they cannot attend the meeting or meetings. Such allowable excuses include class schedule, prior commitments to work, child care, and/or other justifiable situations. The member’s absence will result in an extra hour volunteer commitment with each meeting missed. If a member cannot meet these requirements, the member will no longer be eligible to receive full credit as an SNA member for that semester, but will be eligible to regain membership the following semester.

MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY WALK When: February 4, 2012 Where: La Palmera Mall Time: 8:30-10am Sign up for Muscular Dystrophy Walk at http://www2.mda.org/site/TR/Walk/77-F3-718-CorpusChristiDistrict?fr_id=1373&pg=entry. *Search for Student Nurses' Association! *Raise $15 or more and participate in walk to earn 2 Hours. Enter P.F. Changs and Meet by the fountain.

  10. It’s your LIFE Foundation Saturday, February 11, 2012 @ 8:00 am Galvan House at Heritage Park 10 Volunteers to help with Health Promotion For the Community

  11. LAB TOUR Students needed to give tour of our Nursing facilities. WEAR SCRUBS! February 7 (9-11:30am)for Agua Dulce High School students February 24 (10-12am)

  12. QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSION Need 6 Nursing volunteers for each session to help give positive advice and answer questions. Feb 14 (1-2pm) Feb 15 (4-5 pm)

  13. PJammin Booth • March 6 and March7 • Need 4 volunteers for each day to help manage a booth in UC to promote Pjamming day • Need 3 volunteers to make poster PJammin Day • March 20 • Wear your Pajamas and donate a $1 for • Children fighting Cancer • Awards given for Best PJs 

  14. School Drive • March 20 • Help School Nurses stock up supplies in their office with the following items: • Small zip-lock bags • Gloves • Tampons or pads • Cotton balls • Band-Aids • Ace Wraps • Donate your used crutches • 4 items = 1 hour; Maximum of 2 hours

  15. Meet and Greet • March 21 (11-1pm) • Need 2 students for Ask a Nursing Student booth • Need 4 students for SNA table • Need 4 students to demonstrate SIMS lab

  16. RELAY for LIFE April 14: 6pm -6am More information to come

  17. TOY DRIVE May 1 Bring 2 Large toys or 4 small toys =1 hour *2 hours Maximum*
