  2. What do you do if… • You expect to speak to 3 people and arrive to find 20. • Just handouts,forget it • Ask for a flipchart and pens etc. • Key points • Stand up • Remember: you are the expert!

  3. What do you do if… You find you have 15 minutes instead of the 45 you planned on. • Don’t try to talk fast • Estimate the time you need for each part • Keep your eye on your watch • Main points • Be prepared next time

  4. What do you do if… You arrive and are told the decision maker can't attend. • Someone will report it • In one sentence: What do I want the decision maker to do? • State it in the beginning and in the end

  5. What do you do if… Your throat dries out. • Tiny piece of paper in the back of your mouth flow of saliva • Try it at home

  7. What do you do if… Several people start a side conversation while you are speaking. • Ask for questions • Ask if it isn’t clear • Continue and move closer • Lower voice or pause • Hope someone else is stopping them • Ask the group if they want to continue or to reschedule

  8. What do you do if… You drop your papers on the floor. • Make a joke about your clumsiness • Pick them up • Take a moment to put them in order

  9. What do you do if… The decision maker is forced to leave before you have gotten to your key points. • Mention key points in the first minutes in any presentation • Use your pictures • Summarize in one sentence

  10. Most presentation disasters are not serious! They can be solved pleasant if you… • Keep smiling • Know exactly what you want the decision maker to do
