  2. Two Important Documents • Who knows the difference between the attendance records and the point-of-service (POS) records? • You must have separate attendance records AND separate POS records, BUT • You don’t have to have separate CACFP and licensing/subsidy attendance records

Important? • When do you take attendance? • When children arrive on daily basis • When do you take POS? • When children are served a single meal by type daily • Whose responsibility is it to take attendance? • Generally, the teacher • Whose responsibility is it to take POS? • Generally, the teachers

Things to Remember Point-of-Service: • Can’t use how many children are in attendance • Can’t use how many meals were prepared or ordered/delivered • Can’t have more meals served than in attendance • Don’t wait until end of day or even end of week to take POS Attendance: • Don’t wait until end of day or even end of week to take attendance • Have someone double check attendance with POS Why are these records Important? • Miscalculating either count could result in loss of reimbursement • Must maintain both documents to valid monthly claim • Lack of maintenance could result in loss of funds and being declared serious deficient
