Professional exemptions

Professional Exemptions

They can be useful but…

  • They are difficult – lots of content

  • Not that important to employers

  • Not all the Big 4 firms recognise them

  • If you do want to qualify, you will probably have to attend classes and take a test anyway

  • May not be relevant for international students

  • Don’t make the rest of your professional exams any easier

Look at them critically, they should not be your default choices

Your final year research project

Your Final Year Research Project

Why do we have a final year research project?

  • Because we have to

  • Because Leeds is a Russell Group research led institution

  • Because research capability and evidence of independent learning is a valuable skill for your future employers

  • Because completing a UG research project makes post graduate research much easier

  • Because students enjoy it (after its finished)

Ug research project student feedback

UG Research Project:Student Feedback

  • Very stimulating, possibly the best thing I’ve done. There should be more projects like this.

  • It allowed me to use the knowledge I have gained during my degree to produce a high quality piece of work.

  • Helped bring what I learnt in previous years, I had to apply to this module.

  • It was a good module relevant to the Accounting and Finance degree.
