I first started doing shell mirrors in the early 80's and sold by word of mouth. In 2012 I gave up the corporate world and was looking for a less stressful life and started doing shell crafts again. I found the Siesta Key market a perfect place to market my artwork since ALL the shells are hand picked from the local beaches. Each item is handcrafted with shells I find myself here on Siesta key. I have a wide variety of hand crafted art pieces for you to enjoy! My creations include mirrors, frames, wooden crosses, driftwood crosses, bikini star magnets, nite lights, treasure bottles, wine glass charms, lamp finials, fan pulls, and letters and other hand crafted shell treasures. The water is great, lots of ocean birds to watch and the best sunsets. Siesta Beach in Sarasota boasts that it has the finest and whitest sand in the world, and I cannot argue with this claim; the powdery sand is nearly pure quartz crystal. The beautiful blue-colored water is clean and clear, making it so inviting to bathers and swimmers. The beach is hundreds of yards wide, attracting volleyball players and beachcombers as well as those who just want to find their place in the sun. Waves at Siesta Beach are normally measured in inches and the beach gradually slopes into the Gulf waters, making it a very safe area for children.
