Cost of goods sold and cost of services
The cost of goods sold can also be called cost of sales (COS), cost of income or cost of the product, depending on whether it is a product or service. Includes all costs directly involved in the production of a product or in the delivery of a service. These costs may include labor, material and shipping. The underlying idea is to measure all the costs directly associated with the manufacture of the product or the provision of the service. Are all these directly related to the manufacture of the product? Or are they operating expenses, such as the cost of the human resources manager? There is the same ambiguity in the service environment. The cost in a service company generally includes the labor associated with the delivery of the service.
