Chapter 5. Section 4. Disco. In the late 1960s, rock and roll became music that was more often listened to that danced to. The new dance beat that took the world through the end of the war in Vietnam was called disco. This was a mix of rhythm and blues, gospel, soul, and Latin Dance music.
