Social Influences on the Individual. Chapter 9. Social Influence. Social influence is defined as the effects of the presence or actions of others, either real or imagined, on the way people think, feel and behave.
Each type of power arises from the source of that power. For example, if a person has control over something you need or want, then that person has power over you.
