A: Try increasing the volume on your computer. Q: I just entered the webcast and do not see the slide that the speaker is referring to. What should I do? A: The slides are constantly be pushed to your screen. You’ll should refresh (hit F5) to view the latest slide. Considerations Before Upgrade • Lotus Enterprise Integrator (LEI) • Support scheduled for Domino 6.01 • Sametime • To be provided with SameTime 3.0a • Quickplace • To be determined • 2.08 Functional as Stand alone Server • Antivirus • TrendMicro - Beta Only • Norton – No announced product for Domino 6 • APIs • C ++ no longer shipping • Hitest No longer shipping • Java • All Java applications should be tested with Websphere • Disable Directory Synchronization

Prepare for Upgrade • Convert from MSF (Mail Server Framework) • Domino 6 Does not support the use of OS/400 SMTP server. • Convert from OS/400 HTTP Server • Domino 6 Supports the Domino HTTP and Apache HTTP server but not the OS/400 HTTP Server. • Verify ODS of existing Databases • From the Files tab of the Administration Client verify all databases are defined as R4 or R5 format

Prior to Upgrade • OS/400 V5R1 or Later required • http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/slkbase.nsf/recommendedfixes • 5769JV1 Option 5 required • This provides the Java version 1.3 required for Domino 6 • Domino 5 only supported 1.1x JDK • Perform Full system backup • Verify R5 install • CHKPRDOPT 5769LNT • Remove Any Hotfixes applied • DSPPTF 5769LNT • Any PTF starting with SA must be removed

Beginning the UpgradeInstall from PC • End all Domino jobs and subsystems • Use iSeries Navigator to confirm all Domino jobs have been ended • Insert Domino 6 Server CD into PC • Java based install will auto start • This process installs over the network • Not recommended if PC is remotely connected • Process may take a very long time on older hardware

  9. Beginning the UpgradeInstall from OS/400 • End Domino Jobs and subsystem • WRKUSRJOB QNOTES *ACTIVE to confirm • Insert Domino 6 CD into iSeries Optical drive • LODRUN DEV(*OPT) DIR(‘/OS400’) • Install may post a Java informational message • Install will fail if WRKDOMSVR is in use

What Happened during the install? • License Product 5769LNT was removed • License Product 5733LD6 was installed • 5733LD6 has 2 options • BASE, Server plus iSeries Navigator support • OPTION 1, C APIs • NOTE: HiTest and C ++ APIs not available • All Product Libraries Updated • Install source installed to QIBM/Proddata/Lotus

  11. Start Your Server • Via iSeries Navigator • The Domino plug-in must be installed • Run Selective Setup to install • Via 5250 Emulation Session • STRDOMSVR • Domino Directory is Updated • Mail files are not updated
