  2. What is IoT [Internet of Things]? The internet of things, or IoT, is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. Simply put, this is the concept of basically connecting any device with an on and off switch to the Internet. This includes everything from cell phones, coffee makers, washing machines, headphones, lamps, wearable devices and almost anything else you can think of.

The data is processed locally and monitored by the workers and remote operators, enabling them to get insights that enable them to change behaviors.

IoT for Product Tracking • By attaching RFID tags and linking them with individual product bar codes, owners can now track the current location and condition of every product across the supply chain • RFID codes and sensors can be utilized to track movement of assets off racks • RFID tags can also be attached to the pick-up trucks which enables owners to track the movement of these trucks across the warehouse. • The location of the products can now be shared with the pickup trucks which enables them to pin-point the exact location of the product across the warehouse, making retrieval quick and highly optimized.

IoT Industry Trends Trend 1: Artificial Intelligence (IA) The technology landscape for AI is complex and will remain so through 2023, with many IT vendors investing heavily in AI, variants of AI coexisting, and new AI-based tools and services emerging. Despite this complexity, it will be possible to achieve good results with AI in a wide range of IoT situations. Trend 6:Silicon Chip Innovation By 2023, it’s expected that new special-purpose chips will reduce the power consumption required to run an IoT system, enabling new edge architectures and embedded functions in low-power IoT endpoints.
