  3. Our Role as School Counselors • Meet with students and families for a broad range of reasons including: academic planning, schedule changes, schedule errors, post-secondary planning, personal issues, etc. • Personal/Social • Academic • Career/Post Secondary

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS • 23.5 TOTAL CREDITS MINIMUM • 4.0 ENGLISH • 3.0 MATH • 0.5 HEALTH • 3.0 SCIENCE • 3.0 SOCIAL STUDIES • 1.5 PE • 8.5 ELECTIVES • **Graduation requirements will include successful completion of a state mandated Civics exam. 4 YEAR UNIVERSITIES *3.0 SCIENCE *3.0 - 4.0 MATH SOME REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF TWO YEARS OF A WORLD LANGUAGE. *Summer school required for failed required courses*

  6. Memorial High School Profile Average GPA:  • Class of 2018 3.150 • Class of 2017 3.102 Average ACT: 22.5 Post High School Plans: • 68% - 4-year University • 15% - 2-year/ Technical College • 17% - Work/Military • 49% of 2017 class earned college credit through AP.

  7. GPA=GRADE POINT AVERAGE A = 4.00 D+ = 1.33 A- = 3.67 D = 1.00 B+ = 3.33 D- = 0.67 B = 3.00 F = 0.00 B- = 2.67 C+ = 2.33 C = 2.00 C- = 1.67

  8. CLASS RANK EACH SEMESTER YOUR GPA IS CALCULATED AND YOUR CUMULATIVE GPA IS ALSO CALCULATED. THIS GPA IS THEN COMPARED TO ALL STUDENTS IN YOUR GRADE AND THIS DETERMINES YOUR RANK.

  9. Post-Secondary Admission Requirements 4 yr – ACT/SAT, GPA, Class Rank, possible Essay 2 yr – ACT Technical School –ACT or GPA – program specific Military – ASVAB ***If you are eligible for free/reduced lunch, you are also eligible fee waivers

TESTING INFORMATION 9th &10th Grades– Required ACT Aspire, May 10th Grade- Wisconsin Forward exam in social studies classes, end of March-early April 11th Grade- PSAT (Not required)*recommended for top 20% of Class. National Merit Scholarship qualifier 11th Grade- ACT/SAT required for university admission. *ACT state mandatory test in Feb/March at MHS 10th - 12th Grades- ASVAB required for Military, recommended for career exploration
