God Is Everywhere Psa.139:7-12 • David praised God’s omnipresence! - Gehazi learned this lesson 2 Kgs.5:25-27 23 “Am I a God near at hand,” says the LORD, “And not a God afar off? 24 Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the LORD; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD. Jer.23 - I’m afraid that some believe that they can slip by God’s view of their sins 2 Cor.5:10

Psa.139 • This can be viewed from the standpoint of comfort and protection I Sam.23:14, 24-29 - This would be comforting to David at his times depression and despair Psa.51:1-4 - Christians remember the prophetic name for Jesus, Immanuel Matt.1:23 - God knows us and is close to us!

  12. A. God’s Power Is Showcased Psa.139:12-18 • How do we think of God’s power being displayed in nature? Psa.8:3-4 3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? Psa.8

Psa.8:3-4 “Men go abroad to wonder at the height of the mountains and at the huge wave of the sea, and the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean and the circular motion of the stars, and they pass by themselves in their wonder.” - “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made” Psa.139:14

God Gave Man A Soul • David was known by God at his conception - The human embryo is a person not a biological accident Lk.1:41 and Lk.2:12 - All through our lives God is awake, aware, and caring for you Psa.139:14-16 - God is personally interested in each person’s eternal welfare I Tim.2:4-5 - Why hasn’t Jesus returned? 2 Pet.3:8-9

God Gives Us The Right To Pray • Prayer is an enormous blessing! - Through Hezekiah’s fervent prayer God saves him from death Isa.38:1-5 14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. I Jn.5 - “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” Jas.5:16-18 - Our Lord still works providentially today!

  17. B. Saints Must Have A Righteous Heart • David prayed that God would help him to see and to purify himself Psa.139:23-24 13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Matt.6

Saints Must Have A Righteous Heart • David prayed that God would help him to see and to purify himself Psa.139:23-24 - Do we pray for these things and then honestly take a look at ourselves? • Do I reflect Jesus? • Am I positive? • Do I want God to know my thoughts? • Who controls me? • Am I pleasing to God? - “And lead me in the way everlasting”
