  1. Recaredo, en el décimo mes del primer año de su reinado, se hace católico con la ayuda de Dios; mantiene una prudente entrevista con los sacerdotes arrianos, los hace convertir a la fe católica, más por convencimiento que por imposición, y reintegra en la unidad y la paz de la Iglesia cristiana a todo el pueblo de los godos y de los suevos.
