  1. God in his kindness gave each of us different gifts. If your gift isspeaking God's word,make sure what you say agrees with the Christian faith. If your gift isserving, then devote yourself to serving. If it isteaching, devote yourself to teaching. If it isencouragingothers, devote yourself to givingencouragement. If it issharing, be generous. If it isleadership, lead enthusiastically. If it ishelpingpeople in need, help them cheerfully. Romans 12:6-8

  3. Now the rainbow is not made up of one colour but of many. If theredshould say, "Because I am notblue, I do not belong to the rainbow, it would not for that reason cease to be part of the rainbow. And if theyellowshould say, Because I am notgreen,I do not belong to the rainbow, it would not for that reason cease to be part of the rainbow. If the whole rainbow were green, would it still be a rainbow? If the whole rainbow were yellow, would it still be a rainbow? But in fact God has arranged the colours in the rainbow, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one colour, would it still be a rainbow? As it is, there are many colours, but one rainbow. The green cannot say to the blue, I don’t need you! And the yellow cannot say to the red, “I don't need you!” 1 Corinthians 12:14-21

  4. Spiritual gifts are special manifestations and ministries of the Holy Spirit given to every believer for the purpose of edification and evangelism until the return of Christ.

  5. Understanding Spiritual Gifts 1. The source of the gifts is the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 12:4) 2. All believers have one or more gifts (1 Cor 12:7) 3. The purpose of the gifts is to: * Establish believers (1 Cor 14:26) * Evangelise the lost (1 Cor 14:24-25)

  6. Understanding Spiritual Gifts 4. Every gifts is important to the Kingdom (1 Cor 12:22-24) 5. No one person has all the gifts (1 Cor 12:29-31) 6. The gifts demonstrate the Lordship of Jesus (1 Cor 12:3) 7. Faith is necessary (Romans 12:6)

  7. The Results of Using Spiritual Gifts 1. God is glorified 2. The church become effective and mature 3. Believers gain self-esteem and fulfilment
