Perez Contacting your district‘s legislators and Governor Brown to talk about the Medi-Cal Expansion Communication Strategies: Talking Points, Op-Eds, Letters to the Editor, and Social Media

  3. Medi-Cal Expansion Special Session Legislation: SB X1 1 Hernandez and Steinberg/AB X1 1 J. Perez California’s uninsured population under the age of 65 is 7.1 million as of 2011. Many are employed but won’t get employer based coverage, Or can’t afford coverage through the new market place, Covered California. CCHI supports SB X1 1/AB X1 1 because passage is necessary to ensure the expansion takes place in time for January 1, 2014 soCalifornia’s uninsured population will be able to receive affordable health care coverage. CCHI continues to push for a state-based expansion.

Contacting your LegislatorKey to the success of the Medi-Cal expansion is sharing the local experience with elected officials • Calls and emails are great, but nothing beats an in-person visit. • Introduce yourself and your organization briefly, highlight the local need, and make your ask clear: Please urge Governor Brown to move forward with the statewide Medi-Cal expansion so our communities can benefit as soon as possible.
