Injury Prevention Programs Available for ER Nurses to Present to the Community STOP (Strategic Thinking On Prevention of) Injuries Program is a self study interactive learning tool that provides basic education and skill development in injury prevention. There are six interactive modules that help to integrate injury prevention into patient and community settings. CME is available with this learning, which includes case studies, hands-on exercises, tools for practice, best practice guidelines, and resources related to injury prevention. This CD is also available from ENA for a fee and replaces the Injury Prevention Provider Course. The Alcohol Screening and Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Toolkit is available to do a quick screening in the ED for someone who has been drinking and could benefit from a referral to therapy. Steps to set up this collaborative practice program are outlined in this down loadable program. Choices forLiving program for our youth who are learning to drive. There are videos available, as well as supplemental materials that can be down loaded from the ENA IQSIP site. AKA ENCARE There are several programs, and brochures, that can be brought to the older adult – SAFER Medication Use; Stand Strong for Life – A Fall Prevention Program; Getting Around – Safe Mobility for Mature Adults looks at drinking and driving, seat belt use, physical fitness, and pedestrian safety; and Medication recording cards are also available. Each of these have a small fee associated with them, but come in packets of 25 ENA Injury Prevention Scorecard – scores states based on legislation passed to improve traffic safety, decrease, and prevent injury and death. The Child Passenger Safety program is a formalized and certificate-receiving program that teaches how to inspect and install child safety devices.
