  1. AFLfooty By Lachlan Fern

  2. footy • Footy is my favourite sport, it is really fun. I've been playing it since I was 5. when I was 5 I played Auskick for Seville till I was 9. when I played Auskick I was able to play at half time at a real footy game. When I was 9 I moved to Wandin and played under 10s. I played 2 years under 10s and 1 year in under 11s, 12s and 13s.

  3. Basic skills • Some of the basic skills is marking, kicking, handballing and picking up the ball. • Kicking a footy: to kick a footy hold it with both hands and point it down towards your foot. Then drop and kick your foot forward. • Marking; to mark grab the ball while its in the air. Grab the ball above your head or on your chest • handballing; hold ball with non prefered hand, point it up and punch it with other hand. You should hold the ball around you chest height.

  4. EQUIPMENT • THE EQUIPMENT YOU NEED IS A: • football which is a round oval shaped ball • player Guernsey and shorts which are singlets and shorts with a team logo. • football boots • goal posts (4 big, 4 small ) • 2 teams • oval with painted lines • umpires to control game

  5. rule • Don’t tackle you opponent above the shoulders • Don’t land or push them in the back. • Don’t throw the ball, you have to kick or handball it. • If you have the ball and get tackled and don’t get it out it’s a free kick against you. • You have to bounce the ball every 15m.

  6. How to play • During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. There are rules on how the ball can be handled: for example, players running with the ball must intermittently bounce or touch it on ground. Quarters go for around 30 minutes and are always started by a ball up which is where the ball is thrown up by an umpire. If the ball goes out of bounds there will be a umpire to throw it back in to play.

  7. Footy is a great sport
