  1. The Miracle of Bern By Maja 7E

  2. FIFA World Cup 1954 The FIFA World Cup in 1954, other wise known as “The Miracle of Bren”, was held in Bern, Switzerland. The finals was held at 5 pm on July 4 1954 in the Weckendorf Stadium on a very rainy day. This World cup is the most important cup in the German History.

  3. Finals West Germany Hungary 3:2

  4. Scoring sequence Hungary took the lead and FerencPuskás made the first goal followed by the Hungarian player ZoltanCzibor in the first 8 mnutes. After that Germans Max Morlock and Helmut Rahn shot another two goals making the score tie. In the second half Hungary tried to score, but always got blocked by the German goal keeper. Then just before the game finished Rahn shot the victory goal.

  5. The Final Goal The final goal made by Hemlut Rahn. Hans Schaefer ran down the left wing and shot the ball over a few players into the penalty box. Hungary's Mihaly Lantos tried to block, but instead the ball flew past him and into the path of Rahn who took a few steps before shooting a low shot past the goalkeeper.

  6. Defense The Hungarian team could have prevented the goal if they would have had more defensive players on their side. Also if there would have been some people that were nearer to the goal then they could have blocked the goal.

  7. Attack I think the Germans used their strengths well because Rahn had a very strong shot, where as Morlock was very fast and very accurate in his shooting. I think it also helped that the Germans were very good in playing in heavy rainfall.

  8. Off the Ball movements The Germans had a very good off the ball movement. They always searched for free space. Also they drew the defenders away very effectively by getting into open spaces, which would most likely be passed into. This had a great effect for the Germans, for like this helped the attackers score the goals.
