  2. What is a Drink? • 12 ounce Beer • 4 ounce Glass of wine • 1 ounce of 100 proof distilled spirits • Each one contains 1/2 ounce of Alcohol • Proof is 2 times the percent of Alcohol

  4. Metabolism of Alcohol • Body can metabolize 1/2 ounce of alcohol per hour • The range of the metabolism is 1/4 to 1 ounce per hour • People who drink 2 alcoholic beverages everyday are more likely to developed certain health problems.

  5. Blood Alcohol Concentration • Alcohol enters bloodstream within minutes • 20% of the alcohol drinks absorbed through the stomach • BAC: is the amount of alcohol in a person’s blood.
