FedStats as a gateway • Provides access to statistical information from more than 100 statistical agencies in the United States • Also presents data from some agencies in accordance with the International Monetary Fund’s Dissemination Standards Bulletin Board. Web page from text files • Participating agencies: Federal Reserve Board, Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Bureau of Economic Analysis, Treasury Department • These agencies produce simple text files which are checked twice a day and used to generate the HTML page.   5. SDMX pilot? • Format is arbitrary – why not use SDMX-ML instead? • Requires a key family specifically for the data represented on this page. • Each agency could then produce a file or files following the SDMX standard which could be picked up instead. SDMX Conference 9-11 January 2007

  8. Work in progress • We’re hoping to be able to go forward very shortly. • After pilot, we can show others how to use SDMX to aid inter-agency exchanges. • E-gov is on the horizon – we’re a step or two ahead. SDMX Conference 9-11 January 2007
