  3. Land of forests • Forest land covers 50,6% of total area • Protected forests 25%, strictly protected 10% • 3000 trees per every Estonian

  4. People • 52% of Estonian habitants are collecting forest goods • Every second Estonian visits forest once a month

  5. Timber • 458 million m3 of growing stock • 10 million m3 felling volume • 12 million m3 of annual growth

  6. Forest industry • Share of wood processing industry is 20% of manufacturing industry (420 million EUR) and 9,1% of total export

  7. Hunting Gameanimals: 18 species of mammals and 37 species of birds • 12 000 moose • 3000 red deers • 60 000 roe deers • 23 wild boars • 600 brown bears • 150 wolfs • 800 lynxes • 17 beavers

RMK State Forest Management Centre manages 800 000 ha of forest land (38%) • 17 forest districts • 13 recreational areas, 5 nature parks, 40 other protected areas • 2000 km of nature trails • 178 fireplaces, 41 tenting areas, 42 forest houses • 26 information centres, 18 nature centres, 4 nature houses and Sagadi Forest Centre
