INTRODUCTION • Warehouse managers are responsible for selecting high-quality new pallets to manage their merchandise and inventory regardless of whether they are using new pallets or existing ones. • Good quality pallets can maximise and protect shipments and ensure that they don't get damaged before reaching their destination. • There are so many different types of pallets, and purchasing the best one can be very confusing.

UK STANDARD SIZES • The United Kingdom has its standards, and the sizes vary according to height, weight and length. • They also vary based on how much weight can be applied to them. • Not all of them are accepted in European countries and other nations. • According to pallet recyclers, the standard UK pallet size is 1000 mm by 1200 mm. • These new pallets can take approximately 500 kilograms of load.

EURO STANDARD PALLETS • These pallets are acceptable across the globe, and their sizes match global standards. • Euro pallet size is commonly 1200mm x 800mm with a height of 150mm. • BREAKDOWN OF EURO PALLET STANDARDS • Euro 1 – 800 mm × 1,200 mm × 145 mm • Euro 2 – 1,200 mm × 1,000 mm × 144 mm • Euro 3 – 1,000 mm × 1,200 mm × 144 mm • Euro 6 – 800 mm × 600 mm × 144 mm

ISO STANDARD PALLETS • The International Standards Organisation has made efforts to simplify the system of measuring new pallets by creating a standard. • THESE STANDARDS ARE PRESENTED BELOW • 800 × 1200 mm for use in Europe • 1000 × 1200 mm for use in Europe, Asia • 1067 × 1067 mm for use in North America, Europe, Asia • 1100 × 1100 mm for use in Asia • 1165 × 1165 mm for use in Australia • 1219 × 1016 mm for use in North America
