2. Directions: Today you will brainstorm ideas that will help you write to the following prompt: "Are You Proud of Your Country?" Each student will receive the entry form for this essay contest. This will also be a daily academic grade in my grade book. You will be following the complete writing process. As we view the videos start thinking about why you are proud to be an American. Complete the following graphic organizer to help start the writing process.

7. Directions for rough draft: You will be using your essay graphic organizer to write your rough draft. Intro Paragraph: Lead-in, Thesis Statement, Closing Sentence Main Body Paragraph: T.S = square from your graphic organizer C.D.= supporting detail from first circle E.S.= tell your audience more about the C.D. E.S.= tell your audience more about the C.D. C.D.= supporting detail from second circle E.S.= tell your audience more about the C.D. E.S.= tell your audience more about the C.D. 9. Directions for saving and printing your essay. Do not have your name on your essay Final draft=rough draft after several edits and revisions. Save your essay on the public drive: All, Gholston LA Papers Period folder Patriot Pen Essay Save your essay by naming the file your first and last name Save your essay on your documents Save your essay on your jump drive if you have one Print your final draft Complete the entry form for the essay contest Don’t forget to put your word count on the entry form I will call for your essays Friday
