  34. MD in Action: Volunteer Engagement — Renewals / Arrears Zambia Section Reuben KapalaMunungwe “Thank you for very much for this information. In the recent past, we as a Zambian Section Committee have been working towards recruiting new members as well as recover old or non-active ones. With the current scenario of the economy, we dearsay most of them are targeting the March to August registration window owing to the austerity measures being employed in their respective organizations. However, we are grateful for these tools and will be giving you feedback as often as possible to see how we can synergistically surmount this challenge. Our aim is to rev up this membership recruitment regardless of the socio-economic situation.” Western Puerto Rico Section Luis Lopez, MD Chair “I did use the information to send reminders. I divided the arrears in two groups, i.e. those who have been members for 5 to 30 years which most probably just forgot to renew, and young members (5 years and below) where I am placing more emphasis on how the membership can improve their career, networking, leadership, etc. Semi custom appeal has gone to each group. Will run the report mid-March to see how many renewed, and will then try to contact those that didn’t to encourage and find out why they did not renew if there is a reason. Our section membership is pretty stable and I expect renewal by all.

  35. MD in Action: Volunteer Engagement — Renewals / Arrears United Arab Emirates Section Adell Sultan, MD Chair “Many thx for your message and all the information. In our section we are already utilizing the upgraded SAMIEEE database to pull all the required and necessary information. Its certainly a great enhancement and formation now is much easier and accurate. Reminders have already been sent to the concerned people and will be sent again in a few days. Thanks for sharing the sweepstakes info though, I’ll make sure I’ll add that to our next communication.” Buenaventura Section Steve Johnson, Chair “I’ve just sent out individual emails to the list of soon-to-be-late members in my section, with some immediate and gratifying success. The notes are tweaked depending on membership grade, years of cumulative membership (i.e. may be eligible for SM elevation), etc. I’ve also received some very nice responses from people who renewed as a result of my emails. By the way, the overview of the SAMIEEE interface was quite helpful – I generally despair at the prospect of interacting with SAMIEEE, but this made it considerably less excruciating than usual!”

  36. MD in Action: Volunteer Engagement — Renewals / Arrears Denmark Section Erik Stilling, Chair “In response to your email, the Board for IEEE Denmark Section have taken action to address the members who haven’t yet renewed their membership. We are about to complete sending out the below emails to each of these members. I am aware that you probably do not speak Danish, so I have added the email just to demonstrate that we have taken action and will attend to this matter during the coming month.” Montana Section. Mitchell Hobish, Chair Thanks for this information. I had no idea we had so many delinquent members! Nigeria Section Jon Ogbekhilu, MD Chair “Thanks for your mail and sorry for the late response. We are doing a kind of aggressive campaign for members to renew in Nigeria Section and the response isn’t bad and we hope to see more renewals.”

  37. MD in Action: Volunteer Engagement — Renewals / Arrears Austria Section Martin Horauer, Chair “The renewal reminders to the Austrian members who still have not renewed has been sent out some days ago and I got several replies that some will renew within the next days…” Morocco Section Mohamed Essaaidi, Chair “Many thanks for your e-mail. We have been already approaching all the arrears in the Morocco Section here for several weeks. The material you sent me will be really very helpful to support our actions.”
