2D Drawings. From the Start menu select the Drafting module . First, hide all datum, axis, and sketches. Otherwise, they will appear in the 2Ddrawings. Using template. Select sheet size, use A size. Select scale, use 1:1. Choose units. Metric. Consider Projection Style. English.

  2. Using template Select sheet size, use A size Select scale, use 1:1 Choose units Metric Consider Projection Style English 2D Drawings – Drawing size, Unites & Templates Standard Size PDM I, SJSU

  3. Insert orthographic views Base View – Start here, first orthographic view Insert a section view Toggles between 3D model and 2D drawings Dimensioning command Drafting Annotation Insert images 2D Drawings – Toolbars Toolbars for 2D drawings PDM I, SJSU

  4. 2D Drawings – Inserting Orthographic Views To insert the first view, select Base View From the Base View menu, choose the view type and scale to fit in the drawing sheet Select Front view and .75 for scale, place the view as shown View Type Scale PDM I, SJSU

  5. 2D Drawings – the Three Standard Orthographic Views Drag and place the Right Side view Drag and place the Top view Three standard 2D views Top Right Side Front PDM I, SJSU

  6. From View Style menu choose the Hidden Lines option Select the dashed line Repeat for all views 2D Drawings – Adding Hidden Lines to Views Double click the view border to bring up the View Style PDM I, SJSU

  7. 2D Drawings – Dimensioning Select Inferred Dimension and choose either two points or any entity (line, arc, circle, …) and place the dimension Select number of decimals Tolerance PDM I, SJSU

  8. Text Editor Dimension Style 2D Drawings – Dimension Style & Text Editor PDM I, SJSU

  9. 2D Drawings – Adding Text Select Text, type the text in the window, drag and place it in the work sheet Drag and place PDM I, SJSU

  10. 2D Drawings – Capturing the Drawing for a Report Select File → Export → PDF, This will save the drawing as a PDF file. PDM I, SJSU

  11. Place the cutting plane at a desired location, arc center Drag and place the section view 2D Drawings – Section Views Replace the front view with a section view. Select section view and choose the view to cut Erase the front view PDM I, SJSU
