  2. Summary “All Summer in a Day” is about a girl named Margot who moves with her family from Ohio to the planet Venus. The major difference between Earth and Venus is that on Venus the sun only appears for one hour every seven year. For six years, three hundred sixty four days and twenty three hours it rains on Venus. The other children don’t like Margot because they think she is different. She came to Venus five years ago when she was four, so she remembers the sun and talks about it. The children were two years old the last time the sun came out so none of them remember it. They think she is lying about remembering what it was like to see and feel the sun. When the day arrives for the sun to shine, the students lock her in a dark closet so she will miss the sun. The students then run outside to enjoy the one hour of sun and they are amazed by what a wonderful experience it is to be in sunshine. When they go back inside they feel terrible for locking Margot tin the closet. They realize they have deprived her of this extraordinary experience that happens once every seven years.
