  3. Quantifying Target Market • According to the International Data Corporation (IDC) the amount of laptops sold in 2009 was approximately 16,000,000 in the US and 66,000,000 worldwide. We estimate that, out of the 16,000,000, .0005% will buy our product, which means a total of 8,000 a year or 32 a day.
