  4. Alternate K-PREP components: Transition Attainment Record (TAR) Attainment Tasks (AT)

Attainment Tasks (AT) Two Test Windows 6 Standards - Reading, Math, Writing 5 Standards - Science 4 Standards - Social Studies Same format and standards from last year Reading (Grades 3rd-9th) Math (Grades 3rd-8th, 10th) Writing( Grades 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 11th) Science (Grades 4th, 7th, 11th) Social Studies (Grades 5th, 8th, 12th)

  6. Transition Attainment Record (TAR) Reading/English, Math and Science reasoning EXPLORE (8th), PLAN (10th), and ACT (11th) March 4 – May 24 2013 No changes from last year.

  7. Dimension A or B Dimension A or B determined by ARC Committee

Tasks and scripts provided by KDE • Scripted test; read by administrator • Test administrator reviews and prepares the task materials prior to administration • One on one administration • Test administrator scores each item as test is administered • Answers will be marked A, B, C or D depending on student response • Answers are entered on-line into a database • Answer sheet is stored in the AAAF • Secure testing materials Attainment Tasks

Checklist based on authentic tasks • Evaluates the student’s performance • Teaching team jointly rates student performance as either a: • 0 (Does not demonstrate skill), • 1 (Developing, Supported), or • 2 (Independently Mastered) • Lead team member identifies where the documentation for each item is located (IEP, portfolio, etc.) • IEP team designs an assessment activity to measure a specific student skill if needed • Answers are entered on-line into a database • Answer sheet is stored in the AAAF Transition Attainment Record

School Monitoring Process • Verify the following: • Completed training on Administration Code and Inclusion of Special Populations • training provided by BAC • All required training completed • Overview • Attainment Task • Transition Attainment Record • Code of Ethics signed • Student assessment occurred one to one • Appropriate accommodations were provided • Work samples for each standard

  15. State Monitoring Process Random selections made by the Office of Assessment and Accountability. May ask to view a select number or all of the AAAF folders from the school or district. Revision of the AAAF Components will verify the materials that must be included. Insufficient evidence could result in the lowering of school/district scores.

  17. Important Points to address during Training • Test Security – double locked • One to One Administration • Complete online training and qualification quiz • Teachers need to preview the Attainment Task items before administration • Untimed tasks
