  2. Adding Dimensions to a sketch Distance, angle, diameter, Lines vs pts. 5

  3. DISTANCE Once you have sketch what you would you want to dimension, hit the “Smart Dimension” button

  4. Select the line that you would like to edit… A line will appear with a number attached to it….

  5. This box will appear once you select where you want the dimensions placed

  6. Type in the length you would like the line to be and add the unit of measure. Finally press enter.

  7. Diameter

  8. Click the Smart Dimension Button Select the circle And this box will appear Type in the size you would like and press enter.

  9. Angle

  10. Hit the “Smart Dimension” button

  11. Select one of the lines Then select the other one of the angle you would like to measure/ change This number will appear. Depending on how you place the mouse you can get different angles

  12. Once you are happy with where the measurement is, left click your mouse and this box will appear Type in the angle you would like and either press “Enter” or click the green check mark.

  13. Line vs. Point

  14. Select the “Smart Dimension” Button Select one of the lines Select the point and left click where you would like the dimensions dropped

  15. Type in the distance you would like in the box and press” Enter” or green check mark. Now the point and line are locked together so you can move either line, but the distance between the point and line are always the same

  17. Start off with a object similar to this Select “Linear Pattern” under “Features” Then Select “Circular Pattern”

  18. Next thing you are going to do is select the line you would the pattern to move around. Next select the object you would like to move around the edge. Solid works will show you how the layout will look when you press the green checkmark by showing these yellow outlines.

  19. You can add the amount of objects by clicking theses arrows You can change the degree the object is on by typing in or adjusting the arrows in this box

  20. Once you are happy with how they are laid out press the green check mark
