  3. 2006 CT State Employees’ Campaign for Charitable Giving

  4. Gina McCarthy, Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection, Chair of the 2006 State Employees’ Campaign. Michael O’Brien, SEIU Local 2001 President, union co-chair of the 2006 State Employees’ Campaign.

CT State Employees’ Campaign September 5 thru November 30 • The campaign is your once yearly opportunity to contribute to non-profit local, national, and international charities. • Even $1 per pay period can help people in Connecticut and throughout the world. • Payroll Deduction is the easiest, most effective way to contribute to your community. • Your one-time donation can also make a difference.

  6. Why should I give? • One stone thrown in the pond makes a ripple effect. • Payroll deduction is the time release formula for philanthropic action. • You become a member of a community team. • The CSEC has been created for State Employees and overseen by State Employees.

  11. Great events make giving fun • To enhance the campaign and to make people aware of this opportunity, make your events enjoyable and memorable. The more, the merrier.

  12. Great events make giving part of family time Look for promotions in your upcoming Spring ‘07 email for Rock Cats game tickets where a portion of the ticket price is donated. What a great chance for a family outing.

  13. Great events ideas • Hold a bake sale • Have a dress-down (or dress-up) day • Have a penny war with other departments in your office • Hold a lobby golf tournament • Post co-workers baby photos and have colleagues match name with picture

  15. GOALS MET and TARGETS TO AIM FOR • Last year, our goal was $1.8 million and with 9,292 donors, we exceeded it. • This year, we are aiming for $1.9 million, and with your help, we can hit the target.
