  1. HP Printer app for laptop The HP Printer applications can be used to print and scan documents wirelessly from devices such as laptops, smartphones and tablets. The printer applications include the HP Smart and HP ePrint. These applications can also be used to check printer supplies, view reports and information and change printer settings. Printing using the HP Smart application 1. Make sure the printer driver is installed on your laptop. 2. Install the HP Smart application on your laptop running on the Windows operating system. 3. Select the printer’s name. 4. Select the Print tile on the application. 5. Select the document for printing. 6. Preview the document and make necessary changes. 7. Select the Scan tile to scan a document from the printer from the printer or using the webcam or device’s camera. 8. Make changes to the scan settings, and click Scan. Detailed instructions on how to print/scan using HP Smart 1)Turn on your laptop and printer. Get the HP Smart app from the Windows Store on your laptop. Do according to the prompts appearing on the screen to install the application. 2)If the printer is connected to the same network to which your laptop is connected, the app detects and selects the printer automatically. 3)If more than one printer is connected to the network, click the printer icon followed by the Select a Different Printer option. Click the ‘Add printer not listed’ option, select the ‘Setup a new printer’ option and follow the prompts, if you want to set up a new printer on the network. 4)Select the printer’s name from the printers list displayed on the printer. 5)Click the ‘+’ sign on the application home screen, and select the Set up a new printer option. Follow the instructions to complete the setup. 6)Select a tile on the home screen to print or scan from the printer. The application can also be used to scan images using the device’s camera.

  2. 7)To print document or photo, select the Print tile. Click the Print Document or Print Photo option. Select the document or photo that you want to print and click Print. 8)Preview and make changes to the document. You can change the paper size or paper quality if necessary. 9)Click Print on the preview window. The printer prints your document or photo. Click Done on the application window, and click Done. 10)To scan from the laptop’s webcam or camera and click Scan followed by Camera. Click OK and change the scan settings as required. Position your document in front of the camera and click the red-colored icon on the application scanning window to scan it. Click Done once you complete scanning the document.
