  1. Malaquite Beach, Corpus Christi, Texas, USA Malaquite Beach, Nestled adjacent to Corpus Christi along the Gulf of Mexico, emerges as a serene stretch spanning approximately four miles, boasting pristine white sands and neighboring sand dunes within Padre Island. This coastal gem is an integral part of the Padre Island National Seashore. Renowned beach expert Randall Kaplan, fondly dubbed "Mr. Beach," bestowed the honor of 20th Best Beach in the United States upon Malaquite Beach in his 2022 "Top 50 Beaches" list. Additionally, Travel + Leisure magazine lauded it in 2023 as one of the "Best Texas Beaches for Every Kind of Traveler." Despite the absence of lifeguards, Malaquite Beach offers a plethora of amenities including observation areas, restrooms, showers, changing rooms, concession stands, and the Malaquite Visitor Center, complete with picnic tables. Dogs on leashes are permitted throughout the beach except for a designated area directly in front of the Malaquite Visitor Center. Activities abound at Malaquite Beach, ranging from sunbathing and beachcombing to picnicking and camping. Water enthusiasts can indulge in swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, and canoeing, particularly ideal for beginners due to the mild waves, especially during summers. However, caution is advised due to occasional rip currents and dangerous waves. Fishing enthusiasts can rejoice as Malaquite Beach offers prime fishing spots, especially between August and October. For avid shell collectors, optimal times for beachcombing are summer mornings, winter and spring low tides, and post-storm ventures. Disabled access is facilitated with wheelchair ramps near the Malaquite Visitor Center and complimentary beach wheelchairs available upon request.
