Reduction Changes • New One-Year Hire category: Funds provided for current year only • Clarifies that Superintendent/Designee may determine if any areas reduced division-wide instead of site-based • Clarifies teachers at multiple locations are reduced upon needs of each school in accordance with policy • Assignments are at principal’s discretion based on needs of school

  3. Reduction Changes Continued • Changes reduction notification deadline from June 1 to July 1 per state code change

  4. Recall Process Changes • Establishes recall period through Labor Day • Establishes two (2) business day timeframe for RIF teachers to accept job offer • Utilizes new application system for vacancies and candidate pool for increased transparency

  5. What’s Staying the Same • Calculation of Seniority/Years of Service • Tier One/Tier Two Criteria • Guidelines for applying reduction criteria • Preference Forms will still be collected and shared with preferred locations to get info in front of principals prior to hiring season commencing

  6. Discussion • Current policy: Combining small schools (less than 300) for reduction plans
