  2. What is UNIS? • Statewide notification system • Secure website • document sharing • Statewide user directory • For local and state emergency response agencies. • No cost to participate in the system.

  3. What will UNIS do for me? • Be NOTIFIED, Be INFORMED • Share information with colleagues • Secure website for document access • Statewide directory

  4. How does UNIS work? • Allow participants to rapidly receive and send urgent and routine notifications to a variety of communication devices. (phones, email, fax, pager, text message) • Gives users a web-based location to coordinate and share information and documents.

  5. Alerting Capacity • Phone port capacity: 48 lines • Ability to use another 84 • Potentially more in future (more servers purchased)

Current UNIS Users • 900 + Users • Variety of Disciplines • Public Health, EMS, Hospitals, Clinics, Public Safety (Police/Fire), Environmental Quality, Agriculture & Food, Mosquito Abatement, Emergency Management, Laboratories, Poison Control, Elected Officials, Military, Tribes, Schools, Red Cross, Others

  12. Document Library • Remote access to documents. • Permissions based-only have access to appropriate documents.

  13. Bulletin Board • Place to share and collaborate. • Again, permissions based-only have access to appropriate boards.

  14. Registration • Complete short registration form • Request an invitation to participate on UNIS • send an email to unis@utah.gov
