What have been the major developments effecting the sector over the last 10 years • The Creative Scotland Bill was introduced to the Scottish Parliament on March 12, 2008. • The Creative Scotland Bill will give the new Creative Scotland body functions to: • Promote understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the arts and culture • Identify, support and develop talent and excellence in the arts and culture • Realise the value and benefits of arts and culture • Support activities which involve the application of creative skills to the development of products and processes

  5. How is the sector important to the UK economy? • Creative employment provides around two million jobs, in the creative sector itself and in creative roles in other sectors. Employment in the sector has grown at double the rate of the economy as a whole.

How is it different from the Cultural Industries sector? • The difference between cultural industries and creative industries is that cultural industries focus on tourism and heritage to outdoor activity and even pet shows. The best description of cultural industries is that they are more concerned about delivering cultural wealth and social wealth rather than primarily providing monetary value.

  7. What are the key issues for the candidates chosen vocational area in the sector • As in most lines of work at the moment there is a big issue with the amount of jobs going around, one of the hardest hit was vocational areas in this sector simply because there is a extremely high amount of competition for work. Another issue for people in this sector is keeping up with the latest technology from faster computers to the latest programs / apps.
