  3. Heading • Heading --->455 East Main Street Anytown, Pennsylvania 44556 January 6th, 2001 • The heading of a letter contains the return address: • the street address on one line • followed by the city, state and zip code on the next line • the third line is the date

  4. Greeting • Dear Michael,<--- Greeting • The greeting is another way to say “hello”. • Usually, all of the words, which are a part of the greeting, are capitalized. A comma follows the greeting.

  5. Body • Let me tell you some of the reasons I hope you will never smoke.…… Body---> • The body of the letter contains the main text or message. Each paragraph should be indented.

  6. Closing • Closing --->Sincerely, • The closing is another way to say “good-bye”. • The first word of the closing begins with a capital letter. A comma follows the closing

  7. Signature • Signature --->Jean Rogers • The signature tells who wrote the letter.
