THE IC MISSION STATEMENT The mission of International College is to educate young men and women to be capable of initiative and critical thinking, and who will serve as role models in a global society. The curriculum aims for excellence at all levels and embraces the education of the whole person. Graduates of I.C. will have developed self-discipline, problem-solving abilities, social responsibility, self-confidence, and awareness of, and respect for, the interdependence of nations in all their diversity.

Promotion Requirements (cont’d) • Students are promoted to IB II full diploma program if they have: • attained the above mentioned averages in the selected courses • completed 100 hours of CAS, with a full record of reflections and signatures from all activity leaders • Students failing to meet the above requirements will continue as IB II diploma program courses students (previously known as certificate students) where they have to sit for IB official exams in at least two subjects

UNIVERSITY ACCEPTANCELOCAL UNIVERSITIES • STUDENTS WHO GRADUATE with an IB Diploma are accepted to any Local university at the Sophomore level • STUDENTS WHO GRADUATE with IB Certificates are accepted at the Freshman level (Arts or Sciences) From Freshman Arts From Freshman Sciences FAS SBA FM FAFS FHS FEA FAS (Arts majors only) SBA FM FAFS FHS FEA – (graphic Design only)

  7. SUPPORT SERVICES : • Psychological Support: The class advisor and school psychologist are available to guarantee the necessary support. If the student suffers from any specific adjustment difficulty, the school psychologist is available for support and regular follow up.   8. b) Academic Support: If your child faces academic difficulties in one or more subjects, reinforcement classes will be offered. His/her advisor or teacher will invite you to a conference to communicate the difficulties and explore possible solutions.C) Medical Support:During the year, if any medical condition arises, the administration, school physician and nurse will be in constant communication with you . If your child suffers from any prolonged medical condition, a medical report is required. All confidential information is kept with the administration. SUPPORT SERVICES (cont.)

  9. How Does IC Prepare its students for University Studies A. Career Guidance • Mrs. Mona Shbaklo, Dean of Students, is responsible for orienting students towards local universities (AUB, LAU, USJ….). Through out the year, guest speakers are invitedfromvarious majors at these universities to give orientation sessions. • Mrs. Randa Soubeih, ForeignColleges’ Counselor, is responsible for orienting students towards foreign English speaking universities. She arranges for meetings with speakers from these universities. These meetings are announced on the IC website.

EXAMS & GRADE REPORTING November 14 : Parent–Teacher meeting November 20 : First progress report January 20-24: Semester I examinations (Mid-Year exams) February 11 : Semester 1 report April 16: Second progress report (tentative date) Week of June 23-27 : Semester 2 examinations (Final exams) June 30- July 4: Group 4 project (no travelling plans before July 4) July 4: Annual Report Sheets Semester I September 2013 – January 2014 Ends with Mid Year cumulative exams Semester II February 2014 – June 2014 Ends with the Final cumulative exams

  13. SAT I + School transcript of record for grades 10 & 11 • How does AUB generate THE COMPOSITE SCORE (C S)? • C S = 50% SAT I + 50% school grades = (Critical reading + mathematical reasoning) + Grade 10 + grade 11
