Recap • A system is a set of components that work together to achieve a goal, by accepting inputs and producing outputs in an organized way • An information system is a combination of hardware, software, network and personnel,organized to use data and produce information to facilitate planning, control, coordination, and decision making in an organization

  4. IS Supports Business Processes An information system (IS) supports the business processes of each department in an organization. Business process = a collection of related, structured activities or tasks that produce a specific service or product or serve a particular goal for a particular business unit. wikipedia
