  1. What I have done in last 2 weeks • Read few papers and books for corrections in chapter # 1 • Corrections in chapter # 1 • Benchmark calculations for kicks using Bane & Gluckstern paper • Some reading on CLIC for writing chapter # 2 • Booked my (2nd ) visa appointment with Swiss embassy and is on 25th Sept. • Need an invitation letter from CERN. • Had lots of domestic issues!!! Vasim Khan MEW group meeting slide 1/5 Thu: 10/10/09

  2. Kick factor calculation HFSS v 11 D C E E C D Vasim Khan MEW group meeting slide 2/5 Thu: 10/10/09

  3. Monopole Neg. sign Pos. sign C C D D E E Vasim Khan MEW group meeting slide 3/5 Thu: 10/10/09

  4. Conclusion ?? • It seems neg. sign is correct.....but still some doubts! • For CLIC_DDS1 structure neg. sign works well except for cell # 1 (a=4.0mm) kick. Next ? • Some simulations on DDS1 structure to validate the prediction of the fits. • What is our goal for the CLIC workshop ? • Begin writing chapter # 2 : CLIC an overview. • CLIC crab cavity? Vasim Khan MEW group meeting slide 4/5 Thu: 10/10/09

  5. Chapters planned • 6. Designing a structure • a. Optimisation procedure • i. Beam dynamics constraints • ii. RF breakdown constraints • b. Prescribing a Gaussian distribution • c. Interleaving structures • d. Efficiency calculations • 7. Results • a. 3.3 GHz structure • b. 1.0 GHz structure • c. 2.3 GHz structure • 8. Conclusion • 1. Introduction • 2. CLIC an overview • 3. RF parameters • 4. Wakefield • a. Theory • b. Methods of wakefield suppression • i. Waveguide damping • ii. Choke-mode damping • iii. Detuning and moderate damping • 5. Circuit model • a. Single band • b. Double band • c. Double band with manifold* • d. Spectral function* * I need some understanding. Vasim Khan MEW group meeting slide 5/5 Thu: 10/10/09
