Research / Professional Opportunities • - mineral and kinetic modeling of soils • - collaboration with international scientists to future-cast weathering • - application of modeling techniques to Critical Zone Exploration Network Observatory data • - mentored one NSF • and one NASA • undergraduate • for summer in • our laboratory

  4. M.Sc defense – May 2008 • 20 minute public presentation • Q & A from general audience • 2 hour scientific discussion with • committee Master of Science conferred August 2008

  5. What I didn’t expect to learn but is invaluable information - The unsaid may be the most important. . . - Everyone can show their best behavior for 30 minutes. . . - Everyone has an agenda, be aware of yours. . .

  6. The next phase. . . • Currently Fixed-Term Research Assistant • Actively seeking a rewarding career in Geology/Geochemistry • Have received several nibbles and two interviews from resume • Hope to secure a permanent position in government or industry by end of June
