Our Agenda for Today • Describe NURSING PROGRAMs at Concorde Career Colleges • Identify need for program improvement • Examine the implementation and use of ATI Complete Solutions Package • Summarize feedback of nursing leaders & students regarding ATI • Report on plans for continued partnership between Concorde and ATI

  3. Realities facing Nurse Educators • Crowded curriculum • Scarcity of clinical sites • Lack of experienced educators • Students as customers • Practice/Regulatory disconnect • Cost pressures • Demand for technology • New learning/teaching methods • NCLEX bar rising

Enter Concorde Nursing Programs • Nationwide provider of nursing and health science education • Accredited by ACCSC/ABHES • Proprietary education model • Operate 17 campuses nationwide • Programs range from PCT to PN/VN, A.D.N. and newly launched online RN to BSN degree completion program • Work with 9 distinct BOARDs of Nursing

  9. Step One: Revisit the Academic Model

Academic Need for ATI Solution • New National Director hired • CAO and National Director both reviewed ATI array of tutorials, assessments, faculty resources & success results • CAO examined data on TEAS and ATI NCLEX success factors • Need for proven systems, products and services to complete a turn around within a 1-2 year time frame-sense of urgency conveyed to campuses • Organized a presentation to Concorde Leadership and to Board members • Proposed a FULL SOLUTIONS agreement • ATI goes at risk with a guarantee for student success for A.D.N. students on first time pass for graduates who get a green light on the Virtual ATI product • Mutual commitment to STUDENT SUCCESS

  11. What was done next: high level • Implementation • National Summit of Nurse Leaders April 2013 • 3 day training for National Education Specialists • Regional train the trainer sessions • Faculty implementation specialists Visit each campus • Regular Nursing leadership calls

Integration Continues • Identify ATI champions • Course by course alignment of materials • Replace select textbooks and materials with ATI solutions: Pharmacology made easy example • Track and trend student scores and NCLEX results • Use remediation and focus review materials • Identify and work with high risk students • Monitor ATI use by campus, by faculty and by students • Integrate CARP tests into nursing courses for up to 10% of final grade • Assign homework based on ATI
