National News • Presidents budget level funds Perkins • Additional request for $100 million in competitive CTE innovation fund • Additional $10 million for “Pay-for-Success” projects that would prioritize programs for disconnected youth, expand rural access to CTE, and increase technology in the classroom • Overall focus on ‘wide’ opportunity gaps and achievement gaps across the nation

  6. M • The Michigan STEM Partnership is a statewide, public-private collaborative that includes educators, employers, policy-makers, and others who are concerned about addressing the current lack of STEM skills in schoolchildren and job applicants

  7. p • Goals and Strategies • Promote, inspire, and empower STEM education instruction. • Engage employers in STEM education and career development. • Ensure the viability of STEM education and the Partnership organization. • Actively connect STEM initiatives and programs.
