Almada’s New Residents Welcome Kit Campaign • Developed in the framework of SEGMENT Project (EIE) • “Lack of information”: the most important barrier to the use of PT by particular segments of the “new residents in Almada” target group • Concept inspired in Munich’s approach • Best practice transferred to Almada: very fruitful cooperation between the 2 Municipalities

  7. Measured success • Among new residents who received the Welcome Kit: • Car use decreased 5,8% • PT use increased by a very significant 13,3% • Higher than usual media coverage (for positive mobility issues)

  8. Success Factors • Political support • Local commitment towards sustainable urban mobility • Fruitful and open cooperation: between local governments and local stakeholders • Will to go beyond one’s competences
