  2. From the Very Beginning • The Cure of Souls has been around since before the beginning of time. • God is the “Father” of the Cure of Souls. • He was the first “Curate” when He found Adam and Eve and talked with them about their sin. The 7 Steps to The Cure of Souls

  3. Sinful Souls Need a Cure • God also spoke to Cain, even before Cain’s sin of murder. First he was angry and disobedient. • Sin makes it necessary for our souls to be cured. • God desires for us to be in close relationship with Him. The 7 Steps to The Cure of Souls

  5. What Does a Curate Do? • A Curate is a person who ministers healing to souls. • Provides spiritual direction and comfort • Extends hospitality • Administers the Sacraments The 7 Steps to The Cure of Souls

Curates’ Jobs • In the past, Curates held positions in the church subordinate to the pastor, priest, or vicar. • The Curate would hear confession, give counsel from Scripture, and comfort. • They have been in the role of The Cure of Souls from the beginning of recorded time.   8. The Curate • Ultimately, the Curate cares for others. • This “caring” may involve listening, counseling with Scripture, and keeping another accountable and away from sin. • The Curate always points others to God. The 7 Steps to The Cure of Souls

  10. Soul Shepherds • We have been given “soul shepherds” or Curates to help the Church. • Curates can help us understand Scripture. • They can help us stay on the right path in life, the path to righteousness. The 7 Steps to The Cure of Souls

  11. The Mystery of God • Once we see a faint revelation of the mystery of God, the true God, it’s easier to let Him have control of our lives and progress through the seven steps to living in Holiness with Him. The 7 Steps to The Cure of Souls
