    2. China’s Booming Economy The world’s fastest growing major economy Average annual GDP growth of 9.91% between 1979 to 2010 China’s GDP is worth US$5.88 trillion in 2010. The world’s second largest economy after the United States. Foreign Exchange Reserve ranks no.1 in the world at US$2.45 trillion as of June 2010. Domestic Consumption 875,000 people in China have more than USD1.47 million, marking a growth of 6.1% on the previous year. The world’s second biggest luxury goods consumer behind Japan. Chinese consumers with Internet access spend an average of RMB10,000 online annually.

Airport and Air Cargo in China Airport Infrastructure Shanghai Pudong International Airport ranks third in terms of international and domestic air cargo volume handled in 2010. 45 airports will be built in China. There will be a total of 220 airports in China over the next 5 years . (existing airports: 175) Air Cargo 1.13 million tonnes of air cargo and air mail were handled in 2010 in China, a year-on-year growth of nearly 20%. Chinese international air cargo is expected to grow from 2.1 million tonnes in 2009 to 3.8 million tonnes in 2014. China is forecast to overtake the US and dominate world trade and top airfreight routes in 2030. Emergence of new potential hubs: Chengdu, Zhengzhou, Chongqian and many more.
