CaixaBank is the leader in penetration in the retail sector in Spain and continues increasing its market share in the different products and banking services. The strategic aim, starting from the leadership in individual saving banks, is to achieve outstanding positions in other segments such as the Company Bank, the Personal bank, the Private Bank or the SME Bank. Thus, through an appropriate segmentation of clients, the commercial activity is focused on offering a personalized and quality service.

Caixa Capital Risc – The venture capital division of CaixaBank Caixa Capital Risc is an institutional investor with excellent references specialised in the early stages of innovative companies in Spain. Caixa Capital Risc manages four investment funds; Caixa Micro Capital, Caixa Capital BioMed, Caixa InnvierteIndustria and Caixa Capital TIC, with a total capital commitment of € 73M. Through EmprendedorXXI,Caixa Capital Risc carries out activities which, together with other public and private entities, aim to encourage and promote enterprise and the creation of innovative companies in Spain. Supporting entrepreneurs so that they can carry out their business projects is one of the ways of strengthening the country's business fabric, boosting promotion and productivity and favouring the creation of employment. Nowadays, Caixa Capital Risc has a total capital commitment of € 73M mainly provided byCaixaBank. • Specialized investment vehicles: • Caixa Capital Micro: seed capital fund with resources of € 8M focused on pre-seed and seed investment opportunities. The vehicle co-invests with the entrepreneurs and Business Angels, mainly through convertible notes, before an institutional A round. • Caixa Capital BioMed: Life Sciences early stage investment vehicle with € 22M focused on A rounds of mainly Spanish Bio and Medtech companies. • Caixa Capital TIC: ICT and Internet oriented early stage investment vehicle with € 20M focused on A rounds of mainly Spanish start-up’s. • Caixa Innvierte Industria: Industrial oriented early stage investment vehicle with € 23M focused on A rounds of mainly Spanish start-up’s.

Investment strategy Caixa Capital Risc invests in projects with the following characteristics:  Geographically based in Spain, but with the aim of developing into the international market  Scalable businesses with focus on largemarkets or growing markets  With a value proposition that solves real market needs, and has identified the best way to reach this market  Withinnovative values, taking this innovation in the broad sense (product, processes, business model…) Led by highly committed entrepreneurs with the initiative and with the technical and management skills necessary to develop the project  Support will preferably be given to projects which generate a positive impact on society (improvements in the environment, improvements in quality of life, technological innovation...)

  6. Caixa Capital Micro Caixa Capital Micro invests amounts of 50,000 Euros in young innovative companies through equity loans with a temporary option for capitalization. Caixa Capital Micro SCR is an investment vehicle with €8M in capital (100% "la Caixa") that invests in the equity of Spanish micro-companies with growth potential. The objective is to temporarily accompany these enterprises in their development process while watching them from inside to identify a real growth potential. In this case, the loan is converted into company shares and is accompanied in the next funding round.

Specialized investment vehicles Once the initial stage has been achieved, the business model has been checked, a significant potential market exists and there is a professional management team, venture capital can offer other "solutions" to the projects. Entering into capital means developing a commitment in the project, engaging in strategic business issues through involvement in the board. Caixa Capital Risc has three specialized investment vehicles: Caixa Capital BioMed (€ 22M), Caixa Innvierte Industria (€ 23M) and Caixa Capital TIC (€ 20M).
