  2. Plot • Plot is the literary element that describes the structure of a story. • It describes the arrangement of the events and the actions within the story. • In its most basic form, you can think of it as the beginning, middle, and end of a story.

  4. The beginning of the story. • The way things are before the action begins. • Introduction to characters and setting.

  5. The series of conflicts that leads to the climax. • The events that build up tension and suspense.

  6. The turning point. • The most intense moment in the story.

  7. All of the actions that follow the climax. • The events that lead to the story’s resolution.

  8. Also known as the “resolution.” • The conclusion of the story; how everything gets tied together. • Conflicts are resolved, creating a sense of normalcy for the characters; time for catharsis
