Noah LSM development Future: • - surface layer stable BL, thermal roughness • - unify surface layer for Noah model • - soil: van Genuchten soil hydraulics • - veg: canopy conductance via data analysis • - snow roughness =fct(snow frac, veg type) • - surface energy balance closure (iterative SEB) • - water budget closure (dewfall, frostfall?) • - mixed-phase precip (rain/snow) • - 2-layer canopy with large-eddy canopy mixing
