Master Thesis proposal 2006-2007 “ Dissolved barium to investigate the water mass pathways in the Southern Ocean and better constrain the Baxs proxy “ ANT XXII/3; Weddell sea Analysis of dissolved Barium in seawater and comparison of Ba results with the other physical and biogeochemical water mass properties. Analytical part: * Isotope dilution method * ICP-MS and HR-ICP-MS instruments (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry) * Optimization of the method on the HR-ICP-MS instrument
