  1. Sixth Grade Team Increase6th grade students’ scoreson SEs 6.11A. and 6.9 A on the 2015STAAR Reading testto 70%by using instructional strategies for teaching author’s purpose and comparing and contrasting text structure of two different authors.

Misty Dolgner 52%of the 6thgraders LEP students willobtain a passing score, and show a growthof75 scale score points on the 2015 STAAR Reading test through apull-out or STAAR class that meets weeklyby using effective instructional strategies (e.g., TRTW, Gradual Release of Responsibility, MSMI strategies, vocabulary study, SSR, etc.).

  3. Sheryl Ferguson To raise students’ scores on the 2015 STAAR Reading test to 70% or more by making daily lessons more engaging by using the various methods from research-based Marzanostrategies, include effective pacing, incorporating physical movement, enthusiasm, humor, positive teacher-student relationships, games, and encouraging application of knowledge.

  4. Teresa Black To improve 6th Grade Integrated ELA students’ reading comprehension and content masterythrough a variety of methods (DRJ, new books, exit tickets, etc…) in order to gain a minimum of 10% growth on the 2015STAAR Reading test.

  5. DonnaWoods-Stellman To improve overall achievement on the 20156thgrade STAAR reading test to 75% passing throughmodeling, coaching, and training 6th grade ELAR teachers in best practices in reading instruction (e.g., Abydos, Kilgo, TRTW, and MSMI strategies) through weekly planning meetings; implementing a sustained silent reading practice in all reading classes; and analyzing district reading benchmark data to structure a campus intervention program for struggling readers.
